1. Wear outfits that fit well and feel good: Choose colors that complement Hawaii’s natural scenery and make sure everything fits comfortably. Secure loose straps, avoid pieces that need constant adjusting, and use fashion tape or a safety pin if needed. When your outfit feels good, you’ll look relaxed and confident in every photo.
2. Plan for wind and movement: Hawaii is breezy, so flowy fabrics photograph beautifully. Bring a brush and hair clips if needed and embrace the movement. The wind adds life and natural motion to your images.
3. Stay hydrated and arrive early: Drink water, have a light snack, and give yourself plenty of time to get to the location. A calm, unrushed start helps everyone feel comfortable and ready.
4. Keep pockets empty and valuables secure: Phones, keys, and wallets show through clothing, so we’ll ask everyone to empty their pockets. Leave valuables hidden in your car or bring a designated bag. The photographer isn’t responsible for lost or stolen items.
5. Bring easy, cohesive shoes: Choose sandals that match your outfits and are simple to slip on and off. Barefoot is perfect for beaches, and shoes or boots work well for non-beach locations. Bring comfortable walking shoes for getting between spots.
6. Relax and have fun: Whether it’s a family, couples, or solo session, the best photos come from real moments. Laugh, move naturally, and enjoy the experience. We'll guide you through everything so it feels enjoyable, even for those who are camera shy.
